Issue 36

A Jewelry Potpourri
March 2018

Issue 36 of Perlen Poesie is once again filled with delights! 17 great projects from simple to challenging are waiting to inspire you. Learn for example, the “Pikapolina method” of beading crystal jewelry. You will find structurally rich jewelry made of 2-hole beads, or projects in classic beading techniques with seed beads. Admire the winning pieces of the IBA 2017 and take part in the IBA 2018 with the theme “My Paradise”.

Exquisitely Captured

Apollinariya Koprivnik: The young artist from Maribor, Slovenia studied architecture. She came to jewelry design rather by accident. Her intricately constructed objects made of exceptional components will fascinate you.

Glass jewelry for room lighting

History: The history of beaded fringes for lampshades is connected with the development of room lighting. The traditional craft of trimmings production in the Upper Ore Mountains was thus faced with a new challenge.

Tolerant and easy

Course in Brick Stitch: Similar to peyote, the brick stitch is, however, turned sideways, resulting in more rigid pieces. We show how it can also be used with multi-hole beads.

IBA 2017 The Winners

Inspiring: Stunning designs that reveal how much thought and creative skill went into making the motto “Harmony of Nature and Technology” a reality. It’s sad that we can’t show everything here.
